Position Summary:

This position involves day-to-day responsibilities that require independent judgment and discretion, contributing to the department’s claims handling success.

Essential Functions & Basic Duties:

  • Oversee a book of business inclusive of Commercial &, as applicable, Personal lines claims
  • Serve as a liaison between the Client, Carrier, Account Executive and Producer on claims related issues
  • Attend strategy meetings on servicing the account as well as attend in person renewal meetings with Producers and Account Executives
  • Client advocacy in interaction with carriers on claim related matters
  • Maintain relationships and communications with carriers and clients
  • Prepare and present claim reviews and action plans to clients
  • Review and process new claim reports and court decisions
  • Support claims process through research, expertise and internal and external communications
  • Participate in trainings and educational presentations to augment knowledge on emerging/relevant claims handling and coverage related issues.

Supervisory Duties:

  • No specific supervisory responsibilities, but frequently required to instruct Claims Administrator on the submission of claims and which lines of business are applicable.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Computer skills and proficiency with tools such as Outlook, Excel, Word, and EPIC
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, strategic planning and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of insurance coverages and regulations
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Professional/Goal oriented
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Education and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years in insurance industry adjusting claims
  • P&C Broker’s License

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 – $110,000 annually, plus benefits, and can vary based on location.
