Position Summary:
This position involves day-to-day responsibilities that require independent judgment and discretion, contributing to the department’s ongoing success. This role requires a strong understanding of insurance products, carrier appetites, and underwriting requirements, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills.
Essential Functions & Basic Duties:

- Responsible for supporting the marketing of commercial insurance accounts by marketing submissions to insurance carriers and/or wholesalers, negotiating terms, and assisting producers and account teams in securing competitive coverage for clients and prospects.
- Assist in the marketing of new and renewal business to appropriate insurance carriers to obtain competitive quotes and coverage terms.
- Provide administrative and analytical support to the placement team.
- Analyze and compare carrier quotes to determine the most suitable options based on client needs and risk profile.
- Prepare and issue submissions to carriers via email, portals, or wholesaler relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with underwriters to achieve optimal client outcomes.
- Build and maintain a strong working relationship with insurance carriers, wholesalers and underwriters.
- Collaborate with producers, account managers and placement specialists to develop placement strategies.
- Track marketing activity, carrier responses, and renewal timelines to ensure deadlines are met.
- Assist in the review of quotes and coverage details for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in troubleshooting coverage or placement challenges and identify alternative market solutions.
- Stay current on market conditions, carrier appetite changes, and industry trends.
- Support binding process by coordinating with carriers and internal stakeholders.
- Document marketing efforts and maintain accurate records in the agency management system.
- Evaluate, identify, compile and manage information regarding new business and renewals.
- Prepare and review Acords and complete loss summary reports for new business opportunities.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Understanding of commercial lines coverages (e.g., GL, property, auto, umbrella, workers’ compensation)
- Familiarity with insurance carriers, wholesalers, and market appetites
- Proficient in Outlook, Excel, Word, EPIC, Core Logic and Salesforce
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Education and Work Experience:
- Active New York State Property & Casualty Broker License
- 2+ years of experience in commercial insurance placement, underwriting, or account management
