National brokerage attains Great Place to Work certification for a second consecutive year, despite challenges posed by pandemic to US workplaces.
Woodbury, NY, June 30, 2021 — SterlingRisk Insurance (Woodbury, NY) has again been awarded Great Place to Work® certification after participating in a comprehensive review process to qualify for the sought-after workplace designation. Since its start in 1992, Great Place to Work has surveyed more than 100 million employees and used those insights to define what makes a great workplace. The fact that SterlingRisk received such high rankings despite the challenges of the past year is a true testament to the extraordinary people who contribute to the organization’s success, according to SterlingRisk CEO David Sterling.
“We are honored to again receive recognition for all the positive responses made by our employees in completing the anonymous Great Place to Work questionnaire,” Sterling observed. “It is particularly gratifying since the scoring reflects employee attitudes during the period that encompassed Covid-19 — a time when our entire workforce was operating remotely. Every day throughout the pandemic, our leadership team and individual managers connected with employees in a meaningful way that let them know they were appreciated, protected, and vital members of the SterlingRisk family. We look forward to building on those principles and working hard to maintain such overwhelmingly positive feedback.”
According to the recently announced results, more than 90 percent of surveyed employees view SterlingRisk as a great place to work, with 98 percent agreeing with the statement, “When you join the company, you are made to feel welcome.” Conversely, the US national average is only 59 percent for employees who view their company as a great place to work.
Donna Raab, Chief Talent Officer at SterlingRisk, believes that by creating a work environment in which new ideas and perspectives are welcomed, employees feel invested in the company, even when working remotely. “Each employee is recognized as a valuable contributor to our success,” she remarked. “We also believe that satisfied employees are motivated to deliver exceptional client service. It is our goal to continually explore ways to improve our workplace practices to remain a preferred career destination within the insurance community.”
The workplace practices reviewed by Great Place to Work include SterlingRisk’s willingness to go beyond customary corporate procedures to sustain a work environment in which employees are appreciated, rewarded, and provided the flexibility to balance work commitments with personal and family obligations.
“We congratulate SterlingRisk on their certification,” said Sarah Lewis-Kulin, Vice President of Best Workplace List Research at Great Place to Work. “Organizations that earn their employees’ trust create great workplace cultures that deliver outstanding business results.”
