Managing Director: David Paige, Esq.:
Mr. Paige is presently a Managing Director and General Counsel to Sterling & Sterling, and heads Sterling Risk Consulting. He has over 20 years of experience as an insurance coverage expert, advising insureds concerning claims disputes and contractual risk transfer strategies. He is a licensed insurance broker, an insurance coverage attorney, published author, speaker, insurance executive and recognized authority on insurance coverage strategies. For example, he has rendered advice in diverse areas such as construction insurance, continuous trigger analysis, Personal Injury coverage, complex personal lines, business interruption, highly protected risks, ocean/inland marine covers, London placements, excess lines, entertainment insurance, surety issues, construction insurance, environmental insurance, products liability insurance, D&O insurance, non-concurrency issues, general liability, life/disability insurance, “vanishing” premium issues, TPA Liability, and advertising agency liability. He has lectured on Attorney Malpractice liability for the American Bar Assn, and participated with risk managers and IIAANY in drafting the 1997 revision to the ACORD standard certificate of insurance. He has advised the insurance industry and professional associations on a national basis and served as an expert in a number of litigations. He was associated with the Professional Insurance Agents Association as a Board member from 2004-2007. Executive Vice President: Marie Schlichtig, CPCU, SCLA, ARM, AU:
Ms. Schlichtig has over 24 years of diversified and progressive experience within the property and casualty insurance industry. She is a highly experienced claims analyst and advocate, having resolved thousands of complex claims over her career. She currently manages Sterling & Sterling, Inc.’s claims division, as well as Sterling's affiliated Third Party Claims Administrator, Essential Services & Programs, LLC (ES&P). Prior to joining Sterling, Ms. Schlichtig worked in both a management and technical capacity for insurance carriers in the areas of general liability claims, insurance coverage, litigation management, and underwriting. She holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Management and Communications from Adelphi University and earned her Chartered Property Casualty Underwriting (CPCU), Associate in Underwriting (AU), Senior Claims Law Associate (SCLA), and Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designations. Ms. Schlichtig is the Vice President of the Nassau Suffolk Claims Manager’s Council and a member of the CPCU Society, the Society of Claims Law Associates, and the Risk and Insurance Management Society, Inc. (RIMS). She is also a Master Certified Special Arbitration Arbitrator and serves as a panelist for Arbitration Forums, Inc. She also holds a New York State Property & Casualty Broker License and is a State of New York Notary Public.
Strategic Risk Manager: Brad Dubler, CPCU, AAI
Brad Dubler brings over 20 years of insurance knowledge and expertise to the team at Sterling & Sterling, Inc. Since merging his prior business of 15 + years with Sterling in 2003, Brad continues to combine technical insurance knowledge with his extensive risk management experience for his clients, offering unparalleled insight into their insurance portfolios. Brad's proactive, hands-on approach to identifying, analyzing and executing on complex risk management issues faced by his clients has made him one of the most sought after strategic risk managers in the business. Acting in most cases as an extension of the client's executive team, Brad is able to assist in making critical business decisions that affect all aspects of each company's operations and exposures. Currently, Brad's risk management portfolio includes approximately $25,000,000 in direct written premiums in addition a growing list actively managed insurance portfolios in a variety of different industries. His specialty is in complicated detailed exposure areas such as real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution, and environmental situations both nationally and internationally. He has personally been involved in consulting of placing coverage for over $3 billion of real estate holdings, development/construction projects and environmental transactions over the past 3 years. Brad also has expertise in other areas such as group benefits, life insurance and estate and business continuation planning. As a licensed insurance consultant, Brad often assists his clients and acts as the clients risk manager and helps manage the existing relationships that are already working with the clients.
He is a member of the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter Society (CPCU) since 2000 and is also an Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) since 1996. Brad continues to increase his knowledge base and is currently securing the Construction Risk Insurance Specialist designation (CRIS). Brad received his undergraduate degree from The University of Maryland, where he graduated from the College of Business Management with a Bachelor of Science. Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Brad currently resides in Melville with his wife and three children.
